"I don't know why people are pretending that their tours are gonna happen right now."
Ariana Grande has opened up about a potential Positions tour and called out singers announcing tours during the coronavirus pandemic.
Last week (Oct 30), Ariana Grande released her sixth studio album Positions. The new project is already a huge success. As well as topping iTunes and Spotify charts all around the world, Positions has received widespread acclaim. Fans can't get enough of the record's mature content and cohesive nature, and it looks set to debut at Number 1 in the US and UK.
With that in mind, it's no surprise that fans want a tour. Ari has now revealed when people can expect to see her live again.
Will there be a Positions tour? Here's what Ariana Grande has said about it.
Speaking on the Zach Sang Show about popstars announcing and postponing tours right now, Ariana said: "It's not realistic. I don't know why people are pretending that their tours are gonna happen right now. They're like 'delaying until the summer' and I'm like 'good luck'." Earlier this year, healthcare experts predicted that concerts won't start again until autumn 2021.
As for a Positions tour, Ariana explained: "No. I mean I don't think people are gonna be touring until 2022. I don't see it as a possibility and I don't think I would feel safe. I don't want to put my fans in danger. I think we need to really look at this. No one knows what they're doing and the way that this pandemic is being handled, who knows? I don't see it on the cards."

Ariana continued: "Also, I just got off tour last year. I kind of liked doing Sweetener and Thank U, Next and then touring both together so maybe, whenever the next one happens, which will not be soon, and the pandemic sorts itself out. Maybe that would be a good time to start thinking about it but I think that, with the state of the world right now, it's not safe."
In other words, it looks like there will be a Positions tour but it will be tied to Ariana's next album as well. Also, don't expect Ariana to announce anything until it's safe to tour again.
