Pete Davidson Just Revealed He Proposed To Ariana Grande The Day They Met

It's no secret that it's the summer of love. From Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin to Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, we've witnessed multiple celebrity whirlwind engagements this year. It all kicked off, however, with Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson back in May. Not only are they all kinds of adorable together, but Ariana has even named a song after Pete on her critically acclaimed new album Sweetener.

The track is an emotional cut about being head over heels in love. In it Ariana sings about how lucky she is ("Universe must have my back") and the joy Pete brings to her life (I'ma be happy happy // won't get no crying from me". Our hearts. News of Ariana and Pete's engagement first broke in June. However, in a new interview with GQ, Pete has revealed that he proposed much earlier.

Speaking to the publication, he said: "The day I met her, I was like, 'Hey, I'll marry you tomorrow'. She was calling my bluff. I sent her a picture [of engagement rings]. I was like, 'Do you like any of these?' She was like, 'Those are my favorite ones,' and I was like, 'Sick." This is wild but also too cute for words. As for it being the day he met her, we think Pete means this year when they started dating.

For context, Ariana and Pete first met in 2016 when she hosted an episode of SNL. Ariana mentioned last night in an interview with Jimmy Fallon the she "had the biggest crush in the whole world on [Pete]" while filming SNL. She then added: "I jokingly said to my tour manager 'I'm marrying him, 100 percent'". So she basically predicted her relationship à la Zara Larsson? Amazing.
