Bastille are a British band known for making big pop hits like 'Pompeii' and 'Good Grief' and have absolutely nothing to do with the famous fortress that was stormed during the French Revolution.
Bastille started life as a solo project by lead vocalist Dan Smith, who eventually invited Kyle Simmons, Will Farquarson and Chris Wood to join because it’s always nice to have friends, innit. The band have released two albums; Bad Blood in 2012, and Wild World in 2016. Dan Smith has a very ~odd~ way of dancing and we’d recommend everyone buys a ticket to watch Bastille if only to watch him flail around like excitable child. He also has very nice hair.
Fun fact: Early single 'Pompeii' was such a colossal banger, the very sound of it managed to successfully reignite Mount Vesuvius, killing millions in the process.
