Billie Eilish says Ariana Grande deserved to win instead of her in Grammys speech

Billie Eilish won Album of the Year at the 2020 Grammy Awards over Ariana Grande.
Billie Eilish dedicated her Album of the Year award at the Grammy Awards to Ariana Grande and said that Ariana deserved it.
Billie Eilish made Grammys history last night (Jan 26). She took home five Grammys and became the youngest person ever to win all four of the major categories in one night. Billie took home Song of the Year and Record of the Year for 'bad guy', and Album of the Year and Best Pop Album for WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?. She also won Best New Artist.

However, the 18-year-old wasn't too happy. Billie won Album of the Year against Ariana Grande, Lizzo, Lana Del Rey, Lil Nas X, Bon Iver, H.E.R. and Vampire Weekend. Billie thought that Ariana should have been given the award for thank u, next.
As soon as Billie was announced as the Album of the Year winner, you could see her visibly mouth "no" in the audience. She then expressed her disappointment on stage during her speech. Billie said: "Can I just say that I think Ariana deserves this? thank u, next got me through some shit. And I think it deserves more than anything in the world. I love you so much."
Always humble, Ariana appeared to visibly shut down Billie's claims from the audience and blew her kisses. Despite earning five Grammy nominations this year including Album of the Year and Song of the Year, Ariana didn't receive any awards at all at the 2020 Grammys ceremony...so it's understandable that Billie as a friend and a fan was upset on her behalf.
Following the event, Ariana tweeted: "i had a great mf time tonight :) thank u for everything [sic]."

This isn't the first time that an artist has told the Grammys they have made a mistake during their Album of the Year speech either. In 2017, Adele professed her love for Beyoncé's album Lemonade and told the Grammys that they had got it wrong while receiving the award for her album 25.
