“Actually disgusting that Billie can’t post holiday pics of her having a good time without the pervs surfacing...”

Billie Eilish fans have had to step in to defend the singer after she did the totally normal thing of going on holiday with some friends and posting the photos on social media.

After living out the holiday of our dreams in Hawaii, Billie posted some photos over the weekend of her recent getaway, where she can be seen canoeing, going for a swim, taking a ride on a zipwire and visiting a waterfall, which all seems like pretty average holiday stuff to us.

But because the internet is terrible and people are awful, some commenters have seen the photos as an opportunity to sexualise the 18-year-old and seemingly objectify her for… *checks notes* wearing a swimsuit to go swimming?

One publication in particular (no prizes for guessing who it might be...) even ran a headline staying that the star "strips down to her swimsuit for a steamy shower" before taking "a relaxing dip in the hot tub with a friend" on her "Hawaiian getaway". Gross.

Billie has previously spoken out about how she usually wears baggy clothes to avoid being sexualised, which makes the fact that sex-crazed internet weirdos come out to objectify her the moment she wears something that deviates from her signature loose-fitting look all the more infuriating.

One fan wrote: “I really wish people would stop sexualizing @billieeilish. I get it, she’s 18 now. But she didn’t want you looking at her body before and I’m damn sure she still doesn’t want you to. F**king perverts.”

“Actually disgusting that @billieeilish can’t post holiday pics of her and her pal having a good time without the pervs surfacing...” wrote another.

Someone also joked: “Are u 10 years old [and it’s your] first time seeing a women.” Another warned: "I better not see y’all perverts saying stuff about her body".

In a project with Calvin Klein last year, Billie explained her reasoning behind her usual style: “I never want the world to know everything about me. I mean, that's why I wear big baggy clothes.”

"Nobody can have an opinion because they haven't seen what's underneath. You know? Nobody can be like 'oh, she's slim thick. She's not slim thick. She got a flat ass. She's got a fat ass.' No one can say any of that because they don't know."

Despite only turning eighteen last month, the singer puts our achievements to shame, recently becoming the youngest artist ever to be nominated in all four of the most prestigious Grammy award categories (record, album and song of the year, and best new artist), not to mention being a Coachella headliner last year at just seventeen and releasing her no.1 album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?

So, it's a real shame that in 2k20 some people still can't appreciate female musicians for their talent rather than the fact they, y'know, have a body.
