Camila is hard at work on her second album, but when will it be released? What songs have been confirmed for the album so far? What will the album be about?

Since Camila Cabello’s departure from Fifth Harmony in 2016, she’s risen quickly through the ranks to be a pop star with some serious tunes. 2018 saw the release of Camila’s debut album, featuring some of the tracks that made her famous as a solo artist, including ‘Havana’, ‘Crying In The Club’ and ‘Never Be The Same’.

When will the album be released?

There’s no set release date for the album yet, but Camila has been dropping hints over the past few months that album number two is definitely on its way.

Back in November last year, Camila shared a photo of herself in the studio with the caption ‘MAKING NEW STUFF AND THINGS!!!’ which confirmed she’d started work on the album. Then later, on the 17th June, one fan asked Camila on Twitter where the album was by saying “MOM we are hungry” to which Camila replied “dinner coming SOONER THAN YOU THINK GOODBYE”.

A couple of days later, speaking to Variety, she confirmed she was “pretty much done” with the record, explaining: “I’m itching to just get back out there. I feel like I’m pretty much done with this album and the great thing about being able to have a career in the arts is that you grow along with your craft and it teaches you so much about yourself.” We’re hoping that means a 2019 release date is definitely on the cards.

What’s the concept of the album going to be?

Camila hasn’t spoken too much about what’s actually going to be ON the album yet, but she has talked about how it represents a huge time of personal growth in her life. Answering a fan on Twitter who asked if she considers her new album more important than her debut, she explained: “Different stages of my life, but yeah- I feel like this one feels like I’ve captured my essence more”. But when another fan asked if there was a theme for the album or any important concepts, she admitted that there was but that she “can’t tell you [yet] tho”.

In an interview, she also spoke about how a period of self-discovery and new experiences contributed to her new music and how she wants to be bolder than ever this time around:

“When I was into [my first] album, I was kind of living in my little bubble of life. I had crushes on people that I would write about from afar. I was very shy and introverted. With this album, it’s not really my imagination, it’s me writing about real things that are happening in real time. So I think that there is a level of detail and emotion that you get. I’m so excited because I feel like it’s captured my essence. … I’m ready to bare my soul.”

What will the album be called? What songs will be on the album?

Camila hasn’t announced an album title yet, but she did reveal one of the songs will be called ‘Living Proof’. It’s the “unanimous favorite” of the album, according to her family.

How many songs will be on the album?

Thanks to this cryptic tweet posted by Camila on 17th June, we’d say there’s a likeliness there will be thirteen.

Will there be any collaborations on the album?

Camila hasn’t confirmed any collaborations on the album yet, but she’s no stranger to collaborations. Recently, it was announced that she’ll be appearing on Ed Sheeran’s new album No 6 Collaborations Project on a song called ‘South Of The Border’ with Cardi B.

She also teamed up with Mark Ronson for his song ‘Find U’ and has teased an upcoming collaboration with Shawn Mendes, but whether it ends up featuring on the album or not, we can’t be sure for now.
