The 'Sorry Not Sorry' superstar is not having it...

Demi Lovato is thriving right now. Not only is her Clean Bandit collaboration 'Solo' already one of her most successful hits to date (it is her first UK Number 1 single) but she has also recently finished the European leg of her critically acclaimed Tell Me You Love Me world tour. Since Demi rose to global fame on Camp Rock, her career has gone from strength to strength and this era she's become one of the biggest popstars in the world.

However, amidst all of her well-earned success, Demi has faced some struggles recently. Last month she released 'Sober', her most candid single yet, and in it she reveals that, after managing to control her alcohol addiction and substance abuse for years, she relapsed. The song is one of her most moving released to date and it's also painfully relatable to any addict who hasn't managed to stay sober.

Amidst the brave revelations, Demi also seemingly parted ways with her sober coach, Mike Bayer. Not only did she unfollow him on social media but just two days later she tweeted "You can’t always trust people who you once thought saved you".

Many fans read this as a direct reference to Mike Bayer.

We don't know any of the specifics but it sounds like Mike and Demi fell out around the same time as the relapse. The celebrity life coach has been associated with Demi and her recovery for years and even features in her YouTube documentary: Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated. To see their relationship breakdown is heartbreaking.

Mike added fuel to the fire when shared this Instagram post yesterday.

In it Mike does not reference Demi but his comments seem to allude to her. "I worked in entertainment for many years being a life coach for a lot of different popstars and actors and my biggest pet peeve is when they use excuses because they call themselves artists." He then adds: "I think if somebody uses an excuse to be late or insincere or rude or unapologetic, that's not being an artist, that's being a jerk."

Mere hours later Demi tweeted this.

When Demi posted the tweet, some fans speculated that it was about Perez Hilton but seeing as he hasn't written about her recently, it seems pretty certain that she is calling out Mike. The fact that Demi doesn't mention Mike's name at all somehow makes this more cutting. Also the use of the word 'blog', in spite of the fact that Mike appeared to throw shade at Demi in a vlog, is genius. She is not here for his character assassination.

Now that the European leg of Demi's tour is over, we hope that she is getting the time she needs to recuperate. Relapsing is hard for anyone to go through and we hope that she has a good support system around her to help her recover.

We love you Demi.
