Chatting to Andy Cohen about her coming out story, Demi said: "I didn't officially tell my parents that I saw myself ending up possibly with a woman until 2017." She added: "It was actually emotional but really beautiful. After everything was done, I was like shaking and crying. I just felt overwhelmed. I have such incredible parents. They were so supportive."

She then continued: "My dad was like 'Yeah, obviously... hello 'Cool for the Summer'. My mom was the one that I was super nervous about, but she was like, ‘I just want you to be happy.' And that was so beautiful and amazing. I'm so grateful."

Demi also spoke about her hopes to start a family. She revealed: "I don't know what my future looks like. I don't know if I'm going to have kids this year or in 10 years. I don't know if I'm gonna do it with a partner or without beause women don't need partners."

Demi also recently told Zane Lowe that she used to struggle with her faith because of her sexuality. She said: "I shied away from church for many years. I didn't feel welcome. I was also questioning my sexuality." However, that's all changed now. She explained: "I found a place in LA that accepts me for who I am no matter who I love. That's what I needed."
