Harry Styles fans want to star in The Little Mermaid and the memes are iconic.

Harry Styles will reportedly play Prince Eric in Disney's live-action The Little Mermaid and the memes are hilarious.

Ever since Disney announced that they would be making a new adaptation of The Little Mermaid, we've been excited to see it. Not only is the 1989 animation one of our favourite films of all time but it also has one of Disney's best soundtracks ('Part of Your World', 'Under the Sea', 'Kiss the Girl').

Earlier this month, Disney revealed that Halle Bailey would be taking on the role of Ariel and now it looks like they've found their prince. Harry Styles is being tipped to star as Prince Eric.

Obviously, the internet is living for it and now The Little Mermaid audition memes are going viral.

Whether or not Harry will definitely play Eric is still yet to be confirmed but The Hollywood Reporter has said that Harry "is in early negotiations to play the iconic role of Prince Eric in Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid." Famous actors Melissa McCarthy, Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina are also reportedly in talks to join the new film as Ursula, Flounder and Scuttle respectively. We cannot wait to see it.

People are so excited about Harry though that they've created a hilarious new meme. All the meme involves is fans saying a role they'd like to audition for in The Little Mermaid so that they can meet Harry. Some are going for well known parts in the film like Sebastian, meanwhile others are opting for more obscure things like sand. Confused?
