Louis Tomlinson slams interviewer for asking him about losing his mum and sister

In the same interview, Louis Tomlinson was asked about his feud with Zayn and the future of One Direction.

Louis Tomlinson has called out an interviewer for asking him "invasive" questions while promoting his new solo album Walls.

Yesterday (Feb 3), Louis Tomlison appeared on BBC Breakfast. The presenters asked Louis about writing about "the loss of [his] mum and [his] sister" and grief, as well as his "spat with Zayn" and the future of One Direction. At the end of the show, Louis said: "God, you're proper going in today, aren't you? You've gone trauma, Zayn and now we're finally on this one."

Louis was polite on the show but from his comments and his reactions, it was clear that he was visibly taken aback by some of the questions. Fans began defending him on Twitter and Louis then said that he will never go on BBC Breakfast again.

Shortly after the interview took place, Louis tweeted: "Defo wont be going on there again Haha! Love to all my fans for always having my back."

Dan Walker, who was one of the presenters who interviewed Louis, then replied to him by tweeting: "Sorry you feel like that. It was nice to speak to you on #BBCBreakfast this morning. Can I ask what you are upset about?"

Louis then explained: "I was upset that you continued to ask me about my grief. It goes without saying how hard it is to lose both people so close to me. The least I ask is that you respect my decision of not wanting to be asked in interviews about something so painful. I'm lucky enough to have a creative outlet for me to talk about grief this doesn't however give you the right to talk about it for gossip purposes."

Defending himself, Dan responded: "Hi Louis. We were asking you about the song on your new album about your mum. We know it’s painful which is why we didn’t dwell on it. No intention to upset you or be ‘gossipy’ about it at all. That’s not our style on #BBCBreakfast."

It didn't take long for even more fans to rally behind Louis. One fan tweeted: "Jesus Christ the heartless bastards. Unless the individual brings it up, you never bring it up especially in a public arena like television. Grief & mourning isn’t an open topic of conversation. Avoid that show Lulu, you’re doing just fine mate!"

Another wrote: "it is DISGUSTING that you even have to explain yourself. i’m so sorry that you are upset, i’m so sorry that they couldn’t be professional for one minute to consider how you would feel being asked such things. you deserve better, better interviews better everything."

Louis took it all in his stride though, later tweeting: "Anyway fuck the negativity now. It's been a siiiiick week."
