Melanie Martinez Has Been Accused Of Sexual Assault By A Former Friend

Melanie Martinez has been accused of sexual assault by former friend Timothy Heller in a Twitter post that has since gone viral.

Timothy and Melanie's friendship appears to date back to 2015 judging by the several photos of the two of them together on Instagram. It seemed like they had a very close friendship at the time which Timothy stated has now ended in her statement.

Timothy has also shared a trigger warning on social media regarding her post. Her account of what happened is incredibly detailed and contains content you may find disturbing. Please be aware before reading. You can read her full statement below.

In the statement, Timothy alleges that Melanie "became increasingly interested in [her] sexual preferences" and later kept asking her if she would have sex with her. She also reports that she repeatedly said "no" to Melanie's advances. Timothy then claims that Melanie convinced her to smoke weed, started fondling her breasts, performed oral sex on her and penetrated her with a sex toy without her consent.

Since Timothy's statement went viral, Melanie has responded to the claims with a statement of her own that was published to Twitter hours after the initial report.

In the statement, Melanie says that she is "horrified and saddened by the statements and story told tonight." She goes on to explain her side of the situation, claiming the pair were "trying to lift each other up" throughout their close friendship. She also states that Timothy "never said no to what we chose to do together."
