The Panic! At The Disco frontman will be making those high heels work in New York later this summer.

Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie will be joining the cast of the musical 'Kinky Boots' on Broadway for a run this summer, beginning May 26th at the Hirschfield Theater.

Brendon posted a video message on Twitter earlier today making the announcement, confirming that he will play the role of Charlie Price in the Tony award winning musical featuring a score by Cindy Lauper.

Brendon told Associated Press about his excitement for this new development in his career:

"It's a familiar thing, I guess, but it’s such a different world. I'm so excited to jump in...This is a step in an exciting direction for me because I've always dreamed of being a part of Broadway in some way."

This really does seem like the perfect role for Brendon and we certainly can't wait to hear his best British accent and, of course, see him making those high heels work!

Brendon has got a real taste for the world of musical theatre lately, having also contributed music to the score of the Spongebob Squarepants musical also set to hit Broadway later this year.
