"Misery Business" has sparked a lot of conversation in recent years.

Paramore have reportedly retired "Misery Business" from the list of songs they perform live. Hayley Williams made the announcement at a recent Nashville show, saying that the band felt it was "time to move away from it".

Misery Business has long since been a fan favourite but has come under scrutiny in recent years for lyrics some perceived as "problematic".

Some have taken issue with the lyric "once a whore, you're nothing more. I'm sorry that'll never change".

In a 2017 interview with Track 7, Hayley opened up about her own feelings about the song's changing legacy. "I was a 17 year old kid when I wrote the lyrics in question and if I can somehow exemplify what it means to grow up, get information, and become any shade of ‘woke’, then that’s a-okay with me.”

Fan reactions have been all over the place, but mostly in support of the band.

While many reactions have been sad and disappointed, fans have expressed understanding and support of Paramore's decision.

Paramore may be retiring "Misery Business" from their live show, but they have an incredible discography of music that has resonated with fans for over a decade. Paramore fans will STILL have an incredible time at the live shows no matter what.
