Get well soon, Sel
Selena Gomez has accomplished quite a lot in the last year. She released her most grown up record to date, went on tour, and finally managed to separate herself from the title of "Justin Bieber's ex" (UGH). In the last year, however, Selena also revealed a devastating Lupus diagnosis that has had profound effects on her body and mental health.
Although Selena has proven herself to be a capable musician and digital trailblazer, she's finally revealing that everything might be taking a real toll on her.
Speaking to toofab, the singer announced that she would be taking a break to focus on her mental health and wellbeing.
As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have Lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways. I've discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of Lupus, which can present their own challenges.

I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off. Thank you to all my fans for your support [...] You know how special you are to me, but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best. I know I am not alone by sharing this, I hope others will be encouraged to address their own issues.

Selena was supposed to tour until December of this year but will likely be cancelling the remainder of her dates to focus on getting better.
While many fans may be disappointed they won't get to see her perform for a while, they're clearly hoping Selena is able to tackle her mental and physical health issues.
.@selenagomez thank you for speaking about mental & physical illness. When you take care of yourself, others feel permission to do the same.
