It looks like Selena Gomez, Jake T. Austin and David Henrie are about to reunite...
Wizards of Waverly Place fans assemble. It looks like Disney could be doing a reboot of the Selena Gomez series.
It's no secret that Wizards of Waverly Place is one of Disney's most popular shows of all time. Selena Gomez, Jake T. Austin, David Henrie and the rest of the cast won over the hearts of millions in the 00s ans now it looks like they're about to do it all over again. David recently appeared to confirm that a reboot is in the works with a secret meeting at Disney+ headquarters and now the rest of the cast have hinted that it's actually happening.
Is a Wizards of Waverly Place reboot in the works with Selena Gomez?
Yes. As we've already reported, David Henrie took to Instagram stories a few days ago to share a photo of him standing next to a Disney+ sign with the caption: "@Disney+ - let's do this". Given that Disney+ is Disney's new streaming service, people were quick to speculate that Disney could be working on a reboot of Wizards of Waverly Place for the platform and it looks like the rest of the cast have now confirmed it.
Over the weekend, a tweet went viral in which a fan wrote: "Raven is back, the Jonas brothers are back, Hannah Montana is back. I think we all know who’s turn it is", alongside the opening credits of Wizards of Waverly Place. And it wasn't very long before actual Wizards cast members started retweeting it. As it stands, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, Maria Canals Barrera and Jennifer Stone have all retweeted it.
If that weren't confirmation enough, David retweeted it with the "🤔" emoji (!) and Maria wrote: "Oh, yes! 👍" (!!). Adding fuel to the fire, David, Jake, Maria and Jennifer have all recently liked tweets about a Wizards of Waverly Place reboot. Maria has liked these tweets: "they said in an interview once they would gladly do a reunion" and "if all the OGs aren't involved then it doesn't count and will be horrible".
In other words, it looks like we're getting a reboot and everyone including Selena (!!!) will be involved in it. Selena hasn't said anything about Wizards of Waverly Place yet this year but in 2017 she posted a video of her and David discussing the show on Instagram stories. In the clip, Selena said: "David I think we should do a reunion" and "should we just bring Wizards of Waverly Place back?" *faints*

Of course, there still isn't any official confirmation of the return of Wizards of Waverly Place just yet but all signs point to yes. Disney+ is set to launch in the US later this year with reboots of the likes of High School Musical, Sister Act and The Parent Trap already confirmed. Could Wizards of Waverly Place be joining them?
