There might have been some pre-performance issues...

Selena Gomez took to the stage at the AMAs last night (Nov 19) to perform her brand new track 'Wolves' with Marshmello in her first on-stage performance in over a year.

Selena had been teasing her first and only TV performance of the year (and first since her major kidney surgery) for a while and she even dyed her hair blonde for the occasion.

Unfortunately, fans were left disappointed after the performance because they thought that Selena was lip-syncing through the whole thing.

The second Selena lifted the mic to the mouth, people descended on Twitter to absolutely drag her for it.

While some thought you could clearly see Selena lip-syncing from space, it was also pretty obvious that she didn't seem comfortable on stage. She seemed very subdued and at the end of the performance, she appeared to dismiss the applause with a shrug and a sad smile.

Selena's army of stans defended her on Twitter, some citing *unconfirmed* reports that she suffered a panic attack before the performance.

Whatever happened, we hope Selena is ok. The song is still a bop. She looked amazing. No one got hurt. Everyone calm down.

Selena my dear, shantay you stay.
