Troye, Demi, Halsey And More Show Support To Kesha After Devastating Court Decision

The fall out from the court case continues.
On Friday, a court decided that Kesha could not be freed from her recording contract with her label Sony. The decision has been very controversial, with the judge receiving a tidal wave of criticism for prioritising Sony's financial investment in Kesha rather than the emotional turmoil that she will go through having to work with a label who support her accused rapist, producer Dr Luke.
It's a sad, cruel decision, and the music world is starting to speak out about it.
Demi Lovato took the lead, going on an epic 90 minute rant about the court's decision and criticising the silence from other female artists who've publicly declared themselves feminists but have not openly supported Kesha.
Frustrating to see women come forward with their past only to be shot down, not believed & disrespected for their bravery in taking action

Someone tell me why anyone would ever feel brave enough to come forward if they are most likely to be ignored or called a liar?

I'm also ready for self-proclaimed feminists to start speaking out or taking action for women's rights.

We're not sure what good calling out other artists really does to help Kesha in the long run, but it is great to see big popstars like Demi taking a stance against Sony.
Many interpreted Demi's tweets to be targeted at Taylor Swift, who had remained silent on the issue. Kesha's mum then confirmed via twitter that TayTay had donated $250,000 "as a show of support during this difficult time".
There has been some criticism of Taylor for not openly declaring her support. We think this is particularly unfair. Given that Kesha will probably be embroiled in more lawsuits for the next year or longer, and therefore unable to make music and make money, we think this donation by Taylor is a very practical and kind response.
Taylor Swift has just generously donated $250,000. to Kesha, as a show of support during this difficult time.AMAZING!!

Troye Sivan took a direct swipe at Sony for their lack of compassion.
Miley Cyrus, who is signed to Sony, posted this picture on her Instagram.
Gaga, Lorde, Haim, Iggy Azalea, Lily Allen, Ariana Grande and Snoop Dogg decided to show their support on Twitter. Nicki Minaj unfollowed Dr Luke on Twitter too while Halsey dedicated a song to Kesha at her concert in Glasgow.
It's great to see so many musicians support Kesha. If enough artists put pressure on Sony, it's not inconceivable that they could be shamed into letting Kesha go. We wonder if people will consider boycotting Sony artists, or Dr Luke's label/music too?
Despite the court's decision, we feel encouraged by this show of support and hope that this could lead to a change in circumstances for Kesha.
