The band also reference Kanye West and Donald Trump on the song...

The 1975 have not only announced the title of their brand new single but they have also confirmed when it's coming out and released its lyrics. 'Love It If We Made It' will be available to stream and purchase next Thursday, July 19. Amazing.

However, seeing as The 1975 are never ones to do things by the book, they've not revealed the news themselves. Instead, they have sent a typewritten newsletter to Dork that lays out all of the exciting information.

The black and white newsletter simply reads: “On 19th July, the 1975 release ‘Love It If We Made It’" and then adds "'Love It If We Made It’ is the second track from the 1975’s forthcoming third album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships. THIS IS SO EXCITING. The band then list the lyrics from the new single and it's safe to say that it sounds like it could be one of their best singles yet.

The single address everything from modern racism, "selling melanin and then // suffocate the black men" to Donald Trump and Kanye West's controversial relationship. It literally quotes the now infamous tweet "Thank you Kanye, very cool!". The song also includes the lyrics "war has been incited and guess what you're all invited".

Perhaps most striking of all though, the brand new track pays tribute to the late rapper Lil Peep with the simple but powerful line 'Rest in peace Lil Peep'. The 21 year old shockingly passed away in November 2017 and the music industry has been in mourning ever since. This is the first time that The 1975 have publicly addressed it.

As a single, 'Love It If We Made It’ reads almost like a stream of consciousness about the state of the world today, with the rousing chorus "Modernity has failed us but I'd love it if we made it". Considering how talented Matty Healy and his band are, we are super intrigued to see what kind of music accompanies these lyrics.

'Love It If We Made It' follows The 1975's critically acclaimed Top 40 single 'Give Yourself A Try'. If it's anywhere near as good, we're in for a treat.

VERSE 1
Fucking in a car
Shooting heroin
Saying controversial things just for the hell of it
Selling melanin and then
Suffocate the black men
Start with the misdameanours and we'll make a business out of them
And we can find out the information
Access all the applications
That are hardening positions based on miscommunication

CHORUS
Oh! Fuck your feelings! Truth is only hearsay! We're just left to decay!
Modernity has failed us
But I'd love it if we made it
Yes I'd love it if we made it

VERSE 2
Poison me daddy
I got the jones right through my bones
Write it on a piece of stone
A beach of drowning 3 year olds
Rest in peace Lil Peep
The poetry is in the streets

CHORUS
Jesus save us!
Modernity has failed us
And I'd love it if we made it

MIDDLE EIGHT
Tell me something I didn't know
Consultation degradation fossil fueling masturbation immigration liberal kneeling on a pitch
"I moved on her like a bitch!"
Excited to be indicted
Unrequited house with seven pools
Thank you Kanye, very cool!
War has been incited and guess what you're all invited

CHORUS
And you're famous
Modernity has failed us
I'd love it If we made it
