The 1975 have delayed the release date of Notes On A Conditional Form

Fans will have to wait a little longer for the band's fourth album.

Bad news, The 1975 fans. The band are pushing back the release date of their upcoming album Notes On A Conditional Form.

The band were originally planning to release their fourth album in February but now it looks like we won’t be able to listen to the album until April 21.

Speaking to fans on Instagram live, frontman Matty Healy said he was “sorry to fuck you about” and confirmed that releasing the album would take a little longer than he’d hoped.

“It takes like three months or something to physically make a record on vinyl so it comes out on the 24th of April, I think,” he explained. “Sorry if that’s annoying or whatever…For the sake of a couple of months, in the grand scheme of things [the delay] doesn’t really make any difference.”

Some fans also think that the album’s artwork has finally been released, with the Apple Music version of the pre-order showing a boot and world emoji on the album artwork - similar to what Matty’s name on Twitter has been for a while now.

It’s thought that the album will clock in at an impressive 22-tracks long, including previously released singles ‘People’, ‘Frail State Of Mind’ and ‘The 1975’.

At least we won't have to wait very long for new music though. The band are set to premiere a new album track ‘Me and You Together Song’ this Thursday (Jan 16).
