And did Matty just say we could be in his gang?

I can't even begin to describe how excited I am about this album. Like, just put me out of my misery right now goddamnit.

Last night The 1975 premiered a new song "Somebody Else" via Apple Music. It's probably their strongest song yet from the new album, which is saying something given "Love Me", "UGH!" and "The Sound" have all been bangers. Check it out below.

Matty described the song as a classic 1975 song about the "guilty feelings that nobody likes thinking about", which is just about the most perfect summation of The 1975 I think I've ever heard.

The interview with Zane Lowe (above) is also worth your time. A question about the band's relationship with fans was particularly interesting.

Zane asked if the band have thought much about how their hardcore fan base might have to adjust to the band's impending popularity boom. Matty responded with this thoughtful answer.

"I am acutely aware of that relationship. The foundation that our band is based on is that relationship. One of the things that is really important, to me, on the record is that there is so much subtext, so many jokes, so many easter eggs, that are directly addressing our core fans. People feel like they're in the gang. And that's what you want. You want music to make you feel like you're being personally addressed. That's what I wanted when I was going up."

It's not necessarily an open invite to join The 1975, but I'll take it. Are you in the gang too?
