Twenty One Pilots: 5 Festivals They MIGHT Be Playing In 2018

Tyler and Josh may be making a live comeback sooner than we think. Could they be hitting one of these fests later this summer?
Twenty One Pilots are currently hard at work on their fifth album, the follow-up to the massively successful Blurryface which shot them into arena-headlining status.
But, with the new record due out later this year, many fans in the skeleton clique are wondering when Tyler and Josh might make a return to the stage. Rumours have already begun circulating online that there may be a US tour towards the end of the year. But how about the summer festivals?
Well, it may be a long shot, but if they were going to pop up on an outdoor stage in 2018, here's the festivals we could feasibly see Twenty One Pilots booking a slot at:
1) Reading and Leeds Festival
Where? Reading - Little John’s Farm, Richfield Avenue, Leeds - Braham Park, Yorkshire
When? Friday 24th August - Sunday 26th August
The obvious choice. The band tore up the stage during their appearance in 2016 with the crowd hysteria proving that they had already outgrown the Radio 1 tent and were ready to dominate the main stage. The lineup for the event this August is still underwraps but we wouldn't be too shocked to see TØP launch their album campaign with a main stage slot.
2) Lollapalooza
Where? Grant Park, Chicago
When? Thursday 2nd August - Sunday 5th August
Tyler and Josh are also veterans of this Chicago fest which has also kept its lineup a secret for the time being. The August dates would again track with the expected schedule of the album release and would, again, make for a perfect launch platform for the next era of the band.
3) Coachella
Where? Empire Polo Club, Indio, California
When? Friday April 13th - Sunday April 15th, Friday April 20th - Sunday April 22nd
Don't rule it out yet - it's certainly a long shot but the Californian fest has long been associated with secret sets from high profile acts. Failing that, they are likely a safe bet to pop up on the lineup in 2019.
4) Bestival
Where? Lulworth Estate
When? Thursday 2nd August - Sunday 5th August
The September shindig is known for its theatrical sensibility and unique headliner choices. Could this be the place that TØP finally make their debut at the top of the lineup? Plus, they have a circus theme this year - the perfect fit for Tyler's acrobatic stage presence!
5) KROQ Weenie Roast/Almost Acoustic Christmas
Where? LA area (likely StubHub Center/The Forum)
When? Late May/Early December (exact dates TBC)
The legendary LA radio station always gets the biggest Alt acts of the year for its annual festival shows. TØP should be a safe bet for at least one or both of these events depending on the record's final drop date. December looks more likely but, again, expect some surprises.
