Pierce The Veil, Tenacious D and Tame Impala are also targeted in sudden spurt of hacks.

Musicians on Twitter have seen a sudden series of Twitter hacks with many of our fave acts being targeted directly.

This past weekend (June 4th) has seen Tyler of Twenty One Pilots, Jaime Preciado of Pierce The Veil and Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon have their social media accounts get taken over by hackers, posting a series of weird and occassionally threatening messages that have since been deleted.

Keith Richards, Tame Impala and Bon Iver were also hacked along with Tenacious D leading to rumours that Jack Black had suddenly died.

So, what the f*ck is happening here? Is there some music war we are unaware of? And why target acts that are from the "alternative" scene? Is this some fanboy going wild or just random spamming?

Twitter hacks are, of course, nothing new but this many musicians in one weekend? That's pretty unprecedented.

Tame Impala's hacked tweets were particularly sinister, seemingly suggesting some sort of terrorist attack was about to take place - all untrue of course but nonetheless disturbing.

Were these hacks all by the same individual? Or is this just a really weird coincidence? Either way the lesson is clear - make sure your password is secure as hell!
