'Sycamore Tree' by Kali Uchis was used on the AHS 6 teaser.

Last week American Horror Story dropped some mysterious teasers for Season 6 on YouTube. Needless to say, people were losing their shit about it.

On two of the teasers, an eerie sounding acapella song plays quietly in the background. The track is by a Colombian singer named Kali Uchis and the song is called ‘Sycamore Tree’.

American Horror Story has a good history of promoting new musical talent. It's arguable that it was AHS, not The Voice, that launched Melanie Martinez' career when her song 'Carousel' was used to promote AHS: Freak Show.

It was Uchis' jazzy/hip-hop inspired Por Vida EP (2015), which includes ‘Sycamore Tree’, that garnered Uchis a small-but-dedicated following. The EP features collaborations with Odd Future’s Tyler, The Creator, Justin Bieber’s producer Diplo and hipster hip-hop producer Kaytranada among others. It's f*cking lit and you need it in your life right now.

It also grabbed the attention of Rick Rubin who produces for small indie artists like Kanye West, Lady Gaga and Adele. Photos of the two in the studio have floated around the internet for a while now but no music from these sessions has come to the surface just yet. Let's face it though, when it does, it's gonna be epic.

A new track, 'Only Girl', was released earlier this year and a new album is expected late 2016/early 2017. Hopefully we’ll see it sooner rather than later now the AHS hype is starting to blow things up.

Could Kali Uchis 'do a Melanie' and break into the mainstream? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
