Bhad Bhabie has also announced that she's quitting fame.
Bhad Bhabie has risen to fame because of her combative nature and it is continuing to get her in trouble. The 'Bestie' rapper is being dragged for making comments about black women after she received backlash for cultural appropriation.
It all started when Bhad Bhabie posted photos of her new box braids on Instagram. Box braids are a type of hair-braiding style that originated in Africa and are a popular protective style for Afro-Caribbean hair. The Bringing Up Bhabie star was accused of cultural appropriation for wearing the hairstyle, which obviously riled her up. So, she hopped on her Instagram Story and started ranting.
"To all the black females that are saying my hair ain't meant for box Braids guess the fuck what y'all hair ain’t meant to be straight but y’all glue whole wigs on to your heads and sew Brazilian/Indian/Peruvian hair which is anything like your natural hair texture at all and I don't say a god damn thing neither do the other cultures that you get the hair from," she wrote.
"And on top of that I’m not one of the ppl who has ever made fun of or said anything bad about girls with box braids or any type of braids. I completely agree that would b out of line and culture appropriation if I was trashing black girls for wearing braids hen getting them but that’s not the situation at all so leave me tf alone or imma start getting real disrespectful [sic]."
She added: "I love the way I look plus ya man agrees and we all know I look fine asf with any hair style I do from any culture because I’m just that bitch. I hope y’all bald headed hoes stay up all night thinking bout this. Me and my braids are gonna sleep real good. goodnight [sic]."
Unsurprisingly, the internet was incredibly offended by Bhad Bhabie's comments.
You can say what you want about “cancel culture” but black women pretty much got rid of Iggy Azealia’s disrespectful ass and we need to do the same with Bhad Bhabie. There’s NO WAY to do that nicely, the bitch is waaay to arrogant, entitled and problematic at this point.— Chrissie (@ChrissiesWay) December 5, 2019
i know bhad bhabie is not being blatantly and openly racist in current time on instagram with those raggedy ghetto dollar tree braids— ☽ (@slutasylum) December 4, 2019
Gabrielle Union was told that her hairstyles were “too black” for America’s Got Talent’s audience and y’all really decided to defend Bhad Bhabie? This is beyond me. pic.twitter.com/JmuPGZwurQ— Mani🥀 (@manirenee_) December 4, 2019

If your not a black female your opinion on this topic invalid. Black womens get dragged for wearing fake hair and dragged for wearing their real hair. Why is it trendy and cute when a white girl wear box braids but ratchet when black girls do?? Bhad bhabie was not spitting facts pic.twitter.com/agKsrYuGg9— Gilanah (@_6gilly9_) December 4, 2019

After receiving yet more backlash for her statement, Bhad Bhabie tried to clarify her initial comments. "Lol I knew the internet would find a way to flip what I was saying so first of all my comment was NOT directed toward ALL black women who wear straight hair only toward the black women who were saying I was trying to b black bc I was wearing braids," she explained. "All I did was say back to them what they said to me by saying they want to b like other cultures for wearing straight Peruvian, Indian and other hair types."

"It’s dumb for me to say that huh? But why is it okay for someone to accuse me doing something I’m not but when I do the EXACT SAME THING back I’m wrong. And btw I didn’t call black women bald headed either that was in a whole different comment that was made about all the ppl who also had something to say about me.
"There was multiple other faces too even some white women were accusing me. And no I do not personally feel offended if black women wear a straight wig and I never even said that. idk were tf y’all get some of this shit from like why would I b bother by the way another girl decided to wear THEIR hair [sic]."
Later, Bhad Bhabie announced that she would be quitting fame and moving back to her native Florida on her Instagram Story. "I’mma keep it real, I’m not fit for this fame...I’m too real nobody can handle the truth and if being attacked for something I’mma tell the the damn truth about it and y’all can’t handle that," she continued.
