BLACKPINK make history as the first K-pop girl group to play Coachella

BLACKPINK performing at Coachella is going to be a legendary moment...

It's no secret that 2018 was a huge year for BLACKPINK. After storming onto the K-pop scene back in 2016 with their debut single 'BOOMBAYAH', Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa quickly managed to establish themselves as one of the most successful girl groups in the whole world right now. Last year they broke a VEVO record with 'DDU-DU DDU-DU' and released their hit collaboration 'Kiss and Make Up' with Dua Lipa.

And it looks like 2019 is going to be even bigger for our faves. We may only be three days into the new year so far but the girls are already up to major things. 'DDU-DU DDU-DU' has just become the first K-pop girl group single ever to be available for a Gold certification in the US and now it's been announced that BLACKPINK will be the first K-pop girl group to perform at Coachella.

No. We are not joking. BLACKPINK are really out here making history in 2019 and January has barely even begun. Coachella announced their official line-up for 2019 this morning and BLACKPINK will be performing alongside iconic acts including the likes of Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande. Ariana is also breaking records as the youngest woman ever to headline the event.

BLACKPINK will take the Coachella stage on April 12th and April 19th this year. Not only that but they're listed in the second line of the line-up with Janelle Monáe, The 1975 and Diplo. In other words, Coachella is giving BLACKPINK the respect they deserve and we couldn't be more excited.
