Britney Spears Fans Slam Man Who Mocks Her Breakdown In A Meet And Greet Photo

Britney Spears is thriving right now. The 'Slumber Party' hitmaker is currently on the UK leg of her sold out Piece of Me tour and she's killing it. Not only is she performing all of her biggest hits from '...Baby One More Time' to 'Work Bitch', she's also performing to some of the largest crowds of her career to date. Britney played to an amazing 57,000 fans at Brighton Pride earlier this month.

However, in spite of all of her recent achievements, some people are still trying to drag Britney down. The legendary popstar has gone through some very public personal struggles during her career and some people still think that it's acceptable to poke fun at her mental health. At a meet and greet for one of her recent concerts, one of Britney's fans chose to reference one of her breakdowns.
Instagram user @uonderrrock, took a photo next to Britney wearing a grey hoodie with his hands spaced apart. He later edited the photo to place an umbrella in his hands and posted it on Instagram with the caption: "HI BRITNEY I'M THE GHOST OF 2007'. Britney had some well-documented incidents in 2007, one of which included her hitting a paparazzi car with an umbrella in a grey hoodie.
Of course this is awful. It is never okay to make light of people's mental health like this. Naturally, the internet is outraged by the Instagram post and people have been taking to Twitter to express their disgust.

It doesnât matter how she sees herself this goes beyond Britneyâs past. This is a mockery of serious mental health issues and itâs stuff like this that stops people from taking it seriously and for those suffering to reach out for help

Instead of apologising for the post or taking it down, @uonderrrock has since gone on to edit the caption to say: "You say I want visibility. Yet, you make articles about this and urge people to drag me. Iâll keep the picture but not the comments - you can call me names and explain your reasons by message (maybe just avoid threatening my family)".

It goes without saying that threatening people's families is wrong but the fact that he is in no way interrogating his behaviour and listening to the backlash that he's receiving is also wrong. We shall let you know if there are any updates.
