"Yeah, I don't know him but we're cousins." The internet has confirmation that Gerard Way and Joe Rogan are cousins and people don't quite know what to do with that information.

Anyone with a large extended family will know that keeping track of everyone you're supposedly related to is no easy task. Just ask Joe Rogan and Gerard Way, two incredibly famous people who also happen to be relatives – yet don't know each other. Like the rest of the internet, we were today-years-old when we learned that Joe Rogan and Gerard Way are cousins.

Joe Rogan is known for hosting Fear Factor and as a comedian and podcaster. Meanwhile, Gerard Way was the lead singer of My Chemical Romance and is also the creator of the Umbrella Academy series.

In a recent episode of Joe Rogan's podcast, Joe Rogan Experience, actor and filmmaker Kevin Smith stopped by for an illuminating conversation. Roughly one hour into the episode, Kevin brings up a woman named Josie – who is apparently Joe's grandmother and Gerard's aunt.

"I gotta ask a question on behalf of somebody else," Kevin says. "Your grandmother...named Josie? Gerard Way? Lead singer of My Chemical Romance?"

"Yeah, we're related," Joe confirmed.

Kevin then reads out some type of electronic communication from Gerard that says: "I don't have 100% confirmation on this but I'm pretty sure Joe Rogan is my cousin. I think my aunt Josie was his grandmother."

"Yeah, I don't know him but we're cousins," Joe reiterated.

Kevin then suggested that Joe should have Gerard on the podcast before moving on.

What a world.

Anyway, people cannot believe this fascinating bit of trivia.

To say people's minds are blown would be an understatement.

We sincerely hope these two do manage to link up at some point. For the internet's sake, at least.

What do you guys think? Do you have any famous cousins you don't know?
