Halsey, Dua Lipa and Rita Ora are among the stars who are expected to wear the flower at the ceremony in New York this weekend.
Halsey and Kelly Clarkson will among the artists wearing white roses when they attend the annual Graamy Awards in New York City this coming Sunday (January 28th).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the demonstration is intended as a show of support for the #TimesUp movement combatting sexual harassment in the entertainment industry and was organised by by Roc Nation senior vp Meg Harkins and Karen Rait, rhythmic promotion at Interscope/Geffen/A&M Records.
Upon realising that there was no plan in place to recognise the movement at the ceremony, Harkins and Rait reportedly assembled a group of a dozen women in the industry to discuss the idea, selecting a white rose as the colour is symbolic, worn by the suffragettes.
Harkins tells THR that they also contacted the #TimesUp organisers to coordinate their messaging:
"It is an important conversation politically in our country, and it's also a conversation we need to have internally with our artists and our companies. We need to say if anyone is feeling like they're being discriminated against and they don't feel safe in their workplace, they have people who will support them."
Cyndi Lauper, Dua Lipa, Rita Ora, Tom Morello are also participating in the movement on Sunday with Rait adding that "Music artists have a lot of impact ... So it's only fitting that that music's biggest night show the support for equality and safety in the workplace and that people need to be cognizant of their fellow employees."
The Grammy Awards will take place at New York's Madison Square Garden on Sunday January 28th 2018. The ceremony will be hosted by James Corden and broadcast live on CBS in the US.
