"It will prove difficult for us to rebuild the broken loyalty and trust between these two artists"

UPDATE (15:37pm 13/09): Cube Entertainment have now issued a new statement saying they are still considering dropping K-pop stars HyunA and E’Dawn of Pentagon and that their decision is not final.

As reported by Billboard, Cube write: "We're discussing the issue, but it's not confirmed," read a statement issued on Thursday (Sept. 13) from Cube Entertainment CEO Shin Dae-nam. The opinions of the artists are also important, so it needs be handled carefully. We'll have a board meeting next week to discuss this issue."

In a shock announcement, Cube management company has announced it will no longer be working with K-pop singers HyunA and E’Dawn (from boyband Pentagon) after they made their romantic relationship public.

On 13th September, the agency released an official statement:

Cube Entertainment has officially decided to kick out our artists HyunA and E'Dawn from the label.

After numerous discussions, it is with great pain that we have come to the conclusion that it will prove difficult for us to rebuild the broken loyalty and trust between these two artists, HyunA and E'Dawn; as a result, we have made the decision to force them out from our label.

We sincerely thank fans who have been with the two artists all this time.” [H/T AllKPop]

The couple have been working together in a project called Triple H and were promoting their single 'Retro Future' and had recently performed on Music Bank which resulted in fans asking why they were so touchy feely. HyunA confirmed they were dating on her Instagram after claiming she didn’t feel comfortable lying to her fans.

Whilst we’re living for the DJ Caspar reference, fans are understandably more concerned about E’Dawn’s main band ‘Pentagon’ and some are holding HyunA personally responsible for his expulsion. Fans have already started a petition to keep E'Dawn in the band which currently has over 9000 signatures.

Since their debut in 2016 Pentagon have released 10 EP’s. Their most recent was released 3 days before this statement from Cube Management.

You have to ask where these two go from here. With massive online followings (HyunA boasts 7.9million followers on Instagram) and mixed reactions to the news, we can only hope that with time and perspective on the situation, they are both happy.
