T.I. wants to make sure that his daughter is a virgin.

Iggy Azalea has been at war with her former manager T.I. for a while now, but his latest comments on how he polices his daughter's virginity have tipped her over the edge.

In case you didn't know, the 'Blurred Lines' rapper (who is credited to having popularised trap music) recently revealed that he schedules annual appointments with a gynaecologist to check his 18-year-old daughter Deyjah Harris' hymen is still in tact, meaning he's checking to see if she's still a virgin.

What is a hymen?

The hymen is a thin piece of tissue that covers part of the vagina. Some believe that an intact hymen is proof of virginity and in some cultures women even have surgery to restore their hymen before marriage. However, the theory that it proves virginity is frequently debunked by science. There's actually no way to test whether or not someone is a virgin. According to the NHS, it can break when using tampons, playing sport or masturbating. Some are actually born with their hymen naturally open, while others are born without a hymen at all.

Although that has been explained to T.I., born Clifford Joseph Harris Jr, by his daughter's doctor he chooses to ignore that because apparently she doesn't play sport.

T.I. was on the Ladies Like Us podcast when he made the shocking confession. He said: "Deyjah's 18, just graduated high school now and she's attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself. And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynaecologist to check her hymen." He also added that her "hymen is still intact" as of her 18th birthday.

He went on to say that he books the appointment right after her birthday. He said: "I put a sticky note on the door: 'Gyno. Tomorrow. 9.30.'"

He continued: "So then they [the gynaecologist] come and say, 'Well I just want you to know that there are other ways besides sex that the hymen can be broken like bike riding, athletics, horseback riding and just other forms of athletic physical activity.' So I say, 'Look doc, she don’t ride no horses, she don’t ride no bike, she don’t play no sports. Just check the hymen please and give me back my results expeditiously.'"

T.I.'s disgusting comments have now gone viral. Iggy, who cut ties with T.I. in 2015, commented on his remarks on Twitter in a series of tweets that have now been deleted. She said: "I really wish the women who interviewed him would have said something to him. He has serious control issues with women in all aspects of his life & needs therapy."

As you can imagine, it's not just Iggy who has a problem with T.I.'s wild comments.

To make matters worse, a clip from T.I.'s reality show, T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle, shows that he is absolutely fine with the fact his son King is sexually active aged 15.

At the end of the day, not only does this stink of slut-shaming, it's misogynistic, controlling, hypocritical and a major violation of privacy. Lastly, it's just pretty gross.

T.I. hasn't made any further comments on the incident but the podcast episode has been deleted following the backlash.
