"It's okay to not be okay"
Following a tremendously difficult few weeks, r&b singer, Kehlani is back and making new music. Fans followed closely during a dramatic social media firestorm that nearly cost the singer her life. Thankfully, Kehlani has been able to make a full recovery (mostly off social media) and her new single, "24/7", sees her talk depression like we've never heard from her before.
Kehlani begins the song with the close-to-home declaration that "it's okay to not be okay." The beat stutters and ticks in a way that has grown to become the hallmark of the west coast/trap hybrid movement.

Kehlani is wise beyond her years, singing lyrics like, "I have those days when I am not myself and I'm not worried". Making "24/7" her first single after being hospitalized is a huge step toward letting fans know that she is recovering from her ordeal but also to treat each other with a little kindness.
It serves as a reminder that we don't know who is okay and who isn't so we must be mindful of the experiences that other people may be suffering through in silence.
kehlani has such a beautiful soul
