Lil Xan has issued a statement on IG after he and his girlfriend Annie Smith were reportedly involved in an altercation over previous comments about Tupac Shakur being "boring".

Lil Xan has responded to video footage of himself and his girlfriend Annie Smith getting into a verbal altercation at a 7/11 parking lot in Los Angeles. In the video obtained by TMZ, Lil Xan can be seen brandishing what appears to be a gun at a cameraman who questions the rapper over Tupac comments he made last year.

TMZ reports that LAPD is investigating the incident.

The argument was reportedly about a Lil Xan Tupac comment from 2018.

In a 2018 interview with Revolt, Lil Xan was asked to rate the music of Tupac Shakur. Xan gave Tupac a 2 out of 10, explaining that it was "boring music" in his opinion.

Lil Xan was heavily criticised for his Tupac comment at the time. After Lil Xan called Tupac boring in 2018, Waka Flaka tweeted that he was "banned from hip-hop".

In the gas station incident, Lil Xan and Annie both appear to yell at an unseen man. Lil Xan also uses the 'N' word in the footage.

"What the f*ck you want bro. Get the fuck out. Get out n***a. Get the fuck out n***a," the rapper says in the video.

The camera man then responds: "Ay, look at this guy. Pulling a gun right now. Look at this motherf***er. Ay, pull that shi*t out again."

Lil Xan has since responded on Instagram, saying that the "media is gonna try and twist what just happened".
