Justin Bieber's 'Despacito (Remix)' came in at number two, followed by Luis Fonsi's original track. The Chainsmokers and Coldplay landed in fourth with 'Something Just Like This' and DJ Khaled's 'I'm The One' rounded out the top five.
Along with the most streamed song, Ed was the most streamed male artist and artist overall beating the likes of Drake, The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar.
Taylor Swift, who only dropped her catalogue of music on Spotify in June, was one of the most streamed female artists but was beaten by Rihanna.
