"Honey, your granddaughter will wear that someday"

Noah Cyrus has issued an empowering clap back after viewers criticised what she wore on stage at the 2020 CMT Awards.

The Country Music Television Awards took place in Nashville on Wednesday night (Oct 21), with artists like Halsey and Kelsea Ballerini (who served up a Coyote Ugly-inspired duet of 'the other girl'), Shania Twain and Maren Morris all appearing in pre-recorded performances.

The youngest Cyrus took to the stage to perform a stunning, socially-distanced rendition of her country track 'This Is Us' with star Jimmie Allen.

But viewers were more occupied with her revealing "nude" bodysuit than her impeccable vocals.

After her performance with Jimmie, some viewers flocked to social media to comment on how much they loved Noah's look, and others commented on how "inappropriate" they thought it was.

Noah walked out on stage wearing a nude bodysuit with strategically placed crystals, a pair of white over-the-knee boots, white gloves and a white cowboy hat – for extra yeehaw vibes. (Fans will know she wore something similar in the video for the song too.)

Under a video of the performance on the official CMT Instagram account, one user wrote: "Good performance but her outfit was trashy." Another commented: "What a tasteless choice of an outfit, for a country award show. Her sister seems to be influencing her too much...." referencing Miley Cyrus' penchant for revealing show-stopper outfits.

Noah also took the time to reply to some viewers on Twitter. Her response? "My body my choice, bitch."

Noah also called out Fox News on her Instagram story after they censored her crotch. She wrote: "@foxnews it's skin tone underwear but thanks for blurring my thighs. Vote Biden!"

And that's that on THAT.
