Spotify Karaoke will reportedly give you lyrics and an option to lower vocals on songs so that you can sing above them.

Spotify users assemble. It looks like the streaming service is about to launch a new karaoke feature and it sounds incredible.

Spotify is no stranger to launching exciting features to stand out from its competitors. Over the course of the past few years, the music giant has blessed us with everything from Spotify Wrapped, which gives you a detailed analysis of your streaming habits, to Top 1%, which lets you know if you're in the Top % of people who listen to a particular artist on the platform.

Now, Spotify is reportedly getting in on the karaoke game with a feature tailor-made for the ultimate karaoke experience.

Yesterday (Sep 8), popular reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong tweeted: "Spotify is working on Karaoke Mode". She then added: "the vocal level is adjustable" and posted screenshots of what Spotify Karaoke will look like. They show that when you play a song there will be a karaoke icon in the bottom left of the screen which you can press to do karaoke.

If you turn the karaoke feature on, lyrics from the song you're playing will then appear on the device you're using. Better yet, as Jane reports, it looks like there will be an option for you to add more or less vocal in the song. In other words, you can remove the original artist's vocal and sing in their place, like you would if you were doing proper karaoke.

It's currently unclear if Spotify's karaoke feature will be available to all users, Premium users, or if there will be an extra cost. It's also unclear if the feature will include every song in the Spotify library or not. Either way, we will definitely be getting our karaoke on when it launches.

What do you think? Would you use a karaoke feature on Spotify?
