Avril and nick carter

People of the universe, it seems that 2015 hasn't already reached peak cray.

No, in what is the most shocking and unexpected news, it seems that Avril Lavigne is back, but with a surprise musical guest...Backstreet Boys' own Nick Carter.

The song, called "Get Over Me", is low-key out of control, full of synthesized guitars and drum machines and, well be honest, it sounds like a Busted song form 2004 (but not in a good way).

We're a tiny bit confused as to what Nick is playing at, given that he's part of the group that brought us "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)", "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" and "I Want It That Way". However, it seems that the track is part of the singer's impending solo album All American, due for release 25 November.

Regardless, the whole thing is a lolzfest from start to finish, and definitely worth your time and attention.

Listen to the track HERE, or (possibly) on Spotify below.
