In honour of Frank Ocean's latest release, we take a look at our favourite songs about bisexuality.

Frank Ocean whipped the internet into a frenzy on Friday when he surprise dropped new single "Chanel". Its arrival came just a couple of weeks after his collaboration with Calvin Harris "Slide", which we've already decided is our summer anthem from now until death.

Theories about "Chanel" soon started spreading once Frank released the lyrics for the song. Some of the lines nod to Frank's bisexuality, which caused a media storm back when he released his Channel Orange album in 2012.

It got us thinking about our favourite songs about bisexuality, or as they are affectionately known in the PopBuzz office as "bicurious bangers" (credit to Alim Kheraj for coining the phrase many moons ago). So, here's some of our favourite bangers about 'seeing both sides', as Frank so delicately put it in "Chanel".

1. Demi Lovato - Cool For The Summer

Basically, this is the ultimate bicurious banger. Key lyric: "Take me down into your paradise / Don't be scared 'cause I'm your body type / Just something that we wanna try".

2. Halsey - Ghosts

It's all about the video for this one, in which Halsey cast herself a female love interest. "I’m bisexual so it’s my opportunity to take heteronormativity out of this world of media and culture", she explained in an interview.

3. Lady Gaga - Poker Face

Gaga might be with a guy but she's got somebody else on her mind. Key lyric: "Can't read my / No he can't read my poker face / She's got me like nobody".

4. Panic! At The Disco - Girls/Girls/Boys

Brendon Urie and a girl fight it out for the affection of the same girl. Key lyric: "And never did I think that I / Would be caught in the way you got me / But girls love girls and boys".

5. Rihanna - Te Amo

Rihanna acts coy when she discovers her friend is in love with her but the video suggests she might like her more than she's letting in the lyrics.

6. Christina Aguilera - Not Myself Tonight

Christina telling it like it is on this bop. Key lyric: "I'm kissing all the boys and the girls"

7. Green Day - Coming Clean

Key lyric: "Secrets collecting dust but never forget / Skeletons come to life in my closet"

8. Janelle Monae featuring Erykah Bad, "Q.U.E.E.N."

This one comes from a theory by the good folks at The Advocate who suggested the following lyrics might be about Monae's relationship with women. "Hey brother, can you save my soul from the devil? / Say is it weird to like the way she wear her tights? (but I like it) / And is it rude to wear my shades? / Am I a freak because I love watching Mary? (maybe)"

9. of Montreal - For Our Elegant Caste

Key lyric: "We can do it softcore if you want / But you should know I take it both ways"

10. Lady Gaga - Sexxx Dreams

Can we have two Gaga songs? Because Gaga the girlfriend snatcher is in full swing on this number. Key lyric: "Heard your boyfriend was away this weekend / Wanna meet at my place"

11. The Veronicas - Take Me On The Floor

Key lyric: "I wanna kiss a girl / I wanna kiss a boy"

12. Kate Nash - Sister

A girl asks Kate out but she's already taken. Sad times. Key lyric: "She wanted to be my lover / But my heart was with another"

13. Tove Lo - Cool Girl

There's a few layers to the lyrics, mostly concerning boundaries (or lack of) in relationships. But it's easy to see how lyrics like "No, let's not put a label on it / Let's keep it fun" put this in the wheelhouse of the bicurious banger.

14. Frank Ocean - Forrest Gump

Not so much a banger but a bisexual love song. Key lyric: "Forrest Gump you run my mind boy Running on my mind boy"
