'Riverdale' creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed that the star of his other show could have been a Cooper.

There's only one Betty Cooper for us. Lili Reinhart has been a revelation as the blonde haired would-be detective on Riverdale. Now that the CW drama is in its third season, it's wild to imagine that show runner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa initially thought of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star, Kiernan Shipka, for the highly coveted role.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Roberto Aguirre Sacasa revealed that he actually thought of Kiernan for the role after being impressed with her work on Mad Men.

“Kiernan was iconic in Mad Men, and I had even thought about her, I was like, ‘Oh I wonder if she’d ever do Betty,'” RAS told the publication.

Okay! A concept!

This, combined with the revelation that 13 Reasons Why's Katherine Langford actually auditioned for the role of Betty, and our minds can't help but imagine all these alternate universe Bettys!

In the end, Lili Reinhart nailed the audition process and Aguirre-Sacasa started considering Kiernan Shipka for another role.

“When [Sabrina] moved from CW to Netflix, our casting director David Rapaport said, ‘By the way this is something Kiernan might be interested in,'” he explained to EW. "There was no script at the time, but from the second he said that, for me it was sort of like, ‘Okay she’s Sabrina. I’m writing this for Kiernan.'”

Both Lili and Kiernan are doing a phenomenal job in their respective roles and we couldn't imagine it any other way, if we're being honest.

Roberto recently showed some love to Lili, Instagramming a photo of her as Betty with the caption "the only Betty for me".
