'Pretty Little Liars' fans are devastated by the Alison and Emily reveal in 'The Perfectionists'

'Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists' star Sasha Pieterse also addressed fans who were disappointed by the Emily and Alison development.
Pretty Little Liars fans finally have the Emison update they hoped would never come. After waiting seven long seasons for Alison and Emily to get together in Pretty Little Liars, the spin-off series, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, has confirmed that the fictional couple have gotten a divorce.
In Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists season 1 episode 4, Alison signs a stack of divorce papers after pouring herself a glass of white wine. In the scene, Alison sends an email to Emily apologising for the delay in finalising the "last part" of their divorce. Viewers watch as Alison signs her name to a petition of divorce and removes her wedding ring.

Fans have long worried that Emison was over. In the first episode of the spin-off, Alison alludes to their relationship being plagued by trust issues.
Meanwhile, Pretty Little Liars fans are devastated by the confirmation of Emison's relationship break down.

Sasha Pieterse also spoke about Alison and Emily's relationship with fans on Twitter.
Sasha explained that "Alison will always love Emily" and that she trusts showrunner I. Marlene King's "vision".
No lying. I simply said what I believe. I trust Marlene and her vision. Alison will always love Emily and she will always love and be the best mom she can be to their girls. Emily is struggling with Alison’s past & Alison is trying to be a better person to fix their relationship.

With the twins to consider, Alison and Emily's divorce certainly complicates things. While the apparent end of their relationship is devastating to fans, this part of Alison's life definitely needed to be addressed.
