Four years after the death of Amy Winehouse, Pete Dohety has debuted a song written by The Libertines to commemorate his former girlfriend.
Doherty premiered "Flags of The Old Regime" on Zane Lowe yesterday. Although the song has existed and been played as a live track since 2011, this is the first time "Flags of The Old Regime" has been distributed as a studio recorded track.

The proceeds of the song, which will see an official release date of early March, will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation. The Amy Winehouse Foundation was set up by Mitch Winehouse after his daughter's death in order to help recovering substance abusers tackle their addiction and remain clean.

The song itself is sparse and stripped back with Doherty's vocals thrown against the backdrop of a solemn bass drum, single guitar, and violin. Dirge like and melancholy, the song will likely have been a tough one for the singer to write because of his close relationship with the singer.
