Your ears have never heard music like this before.

Big audio news: Sony has just launched a new version of its iconic Walkman range. It looks like this.

New Sony Walkman

And it costs £949. Yep, you read that correctly.

If you're wondering why Sony are charging so much for something that is kind of like an iPod, it's because this is the ZX2 High-Resolution Walkman. We'll leave it to Sony to explain what that means.

"The NW-ZX2 is an exercise in quality. Enjoy High-Resolution Audio to its fullest, optimised through S-Master™ HX technology. Even compressed audio files are upscaled closer to High-Resolution Audio with DSEE HX™ for a rich studio sound. And with over 33 hours playback, you can keep the music coming anywhere you go."

Still need convincing? Here's someone using the ZX2 High-Resolution Walkman and, well, can't you just tell how overwhelmed they are with the high-resolution vibes?
