Some of Jeffree Star's mystery boxes contained Skin Frost highlighters with special black splatters on it for Halloween.

Jeffree Star and Shane Dawson have collaborated on the highly-anticipated Conspiracy palette (which will be dropping on 1 November – eek!) and it's all the internet is talking about now. But while we wait, Jeffree Star launched three new mystery boxes filled with exclusive products. However, Jeffree Star Cosmetics customers are complaining that the highlighters are arriving in broken pieces.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics launched its Halloween mystery boxes on 11 October and unsurprisingly they instantly sold out. The boxes were priced between $40 to $160 and contained everything from limited edition Jeffree Star Cosmetics products to Jeffree Star merch.

The YouTuber tweeted that the $75 "deluxe" mystery box contained a special Skin Frost highlighter that would "never be made again". So naturally, Jeffree's die-hard fans were excited to get their hands on the products.

However, when customers received their parcels, some noticed that the highlighters arrived damaged before they even opened them.

Soon, Jeffree's customers started sharing photos of broken highlighters on Twitter.

Jeffree responded to the criticism surrounding his highlighters on Twitter.

A fan asked if they were meant to have the black splatter effect on them – with some believing it was actually mould. He said: "The black splatter is for Halloween aesthetic purposes haha it's spooky and has a ghost on the shade label, just like the jawbreaker highlighter I wanted to do something fun! A few hundred out of a VERY large amount arrived broken sadly."

"I pride myself on my customer service team and all anyone has to do is email a photo of the broken product and we will send out a new one," he added. "No tea, just for handling from USPS but we prepare of these moments and always have extra stock for CS issues like this!"

Thankfully, Jeffree was quick to get the issue sorted. Some customers said they'd received confirmation from Jeffree Star Cosmetics that they'd receive a brand new highlighter.
