Why Are People Slut-Shaming Ariel Winter Over This Graduation Dress?

The Modern Family actress is being slut-shamed on Instagram (again) over her choice of formal wear.
This is Ariel Winter.
By day, she stars in the hit US sitcom 'Modern Family' as Alex, the geeky middle sister of the Dunphy family. By night, she masquerades as a kick ass, no BS, slut-shaming online destroyer.
Ariel celebrated her graduation this week, and her subsequent acceptance to study at UCLA. She shared inspiring words and images across her Instagram throughout the celebrations.
Here she is looking AMAZING... fire emoji amazing, in fact.
But obviously, because this is 2016 and we are on Instagram... 3000 people felt the need to comment on the picture because they were all horrifically offended by the mere hint of the dreaded ~UNDERBOOB~.
And guess what, homegirl had ZERO time for the haters!
Dear sorry body-shamers, I looked HOT in that dress. And if you hate it, don't buy it. But please get a hobby. XOXO Ariel #EmbraceYourBody

Ariel has had her fair share of body-shaming abuse hurled at her. She had a breast reduction at the age of 17 - of which she has been an outspoken source of positivity. She was also called out for posing in swimwear, whilst on holiday, with her two younger cousins for being 'provocative'. Some users even went as far to suggest that "...she knew what she was doing by posting herself in a bikini." Mate, it's an Instagram pic - get over it.
Ariel has also been very vocal in response to Kim Kardashian West's penchant for a naked selfie. She's all about body positivity and we're here for her.
Fair enough if people think her choice of outfit is a touch too much for such a formal event but you're not wearing it and neither is your sister so why are you offended? And why are people still obsessing over Ariel's body and fashion choices when what we should really be talking about is how the girl has time to maintain a successful career, complete high school and STILL have time left over to attend UCLA for the next 4 years?! Huh? Exactly.
Just a thought... as you were, everyone!
