CoverGirl Just Announced Their New Spokesperson And He’s a 17-Year-Old Guy!

CoverGirl announced their newest spokesmodel yesterday (October 11) and for the first time in the beauty brand's 60 year history, it will be a male! In fact, you may recognise his face, impeccable jawline and make up skills from a certain set of flawless school photos that went viral earlier this year...

Yep, this is James Charles, the 17-year-old aspiring make up artist from New York who brought his ring light along to his senior year photoshoot for a little extra glam. Remember?

Since going viral, Charles has managed to amass over 75,000 YouTube subscribers and almost half a million Instagram followers.
After flawlessly showcasing his incredible talent, CoverGirl just HAD to snap him up as their latest spokesperson. In a statement, the beauty brand described Charles' fearless expression as "an inspiration to anyone who might have been afraid to do the same,” while describing him as a perfect boundary-breaking role model.
"I am so beyond excited and overwhelmed and happy and astonished and of course, SHOOK, to announce that I am the newest face of CoverGirl. First ever male ambassador for the brand and I am so honored and excited to be working with such an iconic brand."
He continued: "I started my Instagram one year ago to inspire others and as an artistic outlet to challenge myself creatively. I truly hope that this shows that anyone and everyone can wear makeup and can do anything if you work hard."
Following in the footsteps of Zendaya, Janelle Monae and Ellen Degeneres to name a few, Charles will appear in print, digital and television ads alongside Katy Perry who welcomed him to the CoverGirl family on Instagram.
