Omg, YES girl!
Meet Sara Geurts.
She is a 26-year-old model living with a genetic skin condition called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Ehlers-Danlos specifically affects the skin and joints of a person's body. People with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome often experience slowed down collagen production, sometimes causing the skin to have a "stretchy" appearance.
Recently, Sara wrote about her experience for the The Mighty saying, "I was diagnosed around the age of 10 but had noticed my skin as early as the age of 7."
Sara wrote that her skin was her biggest insecurity and that it even "created a major barrier" in her romantic relationship. Speaking to The Sun, Sara revealed that she eventually learned to love her skin with the help of supportive friends and family.
"I tried to cover up my skin constantly. But now I think it’s just the most beautiful thing ever," she told The Sun.
Sara's Instagram is full of stunning shots of her looking confident and comfortable in her gorgeous skin.
Sara's willingness to share her journey has also inspired others who have experienced confidence issues stemming from their health and physical appearance as well.
