Listen to this dreamy ultra-synth version of "Night Changes" and try not to get stuck in the 80's.

The Vaccines and One Direction are two very different bands, and their fans likely even more so. So when you learn that one is covering the other's song, it guarantees a crazy musical culture clash.

The Vaccines appeared on Radio 1's Live Lounge this week, and delivered their own take on 1D single "Night Changes". This is a 1D song like you've never heard it before; pulling away from the soft-rock-pop direction the boys have been heading in, and turning it into a low-key, synth-driven jam that wouldn't sound out of place in a date scene in an 80's movie.

The Vaccines appeared on Live Lounge to promote new album English Graffiti, which debuts this week and features singles such as "Dream Lover" and "Minimal Affection".

What do you think: did the Vaccines's version work for you, or should they leave it to the 1D boys? Let us know below.
