With all these unanswered questions in the air, there is sure to be a third season for '13 Reasons Why' on Netflix.
13 Reasons Why ended its second season with a dramatic cliffhanger and some pretty compelling arguments both for and against a third season.
While we wait for Netflix to announced whether or not the controversial show will live to see another season, here are some urgent and pressing unanswered questions from season 2.
Will Chloe keep her baby?
In the final episode of season 2, audiences learn that Chloe is pregnant (presumably with Bryce's baby). This helps us understand why her testimony practically exonerated Bryce at the trial.
Will Chloe keep her baby? If she decides to keep it, will Bryce support her? We know he isn't exactly in line for any Gentleman of The Year awards but this is a huge life changing decision for the both of them. Knowing Bryce though, a baby is definitely not in his plans and that fact may put Chloe in danger.
Where is Tony taking Tyler?
At the end of season 2, we see Clay manage to talk Tyler out of committing a deadly school shooting. At the last second, just before police arrive, Tony's car comes into view and Tyler jumps in. Tony speeds away and Clay is left standing there holding the would-be murder weapon.
Here's what we need to know: Where the hell is Tony taking Tyler? Where the hell can Tony take Tyler?
It looks like Tyler may be able to run for a while, but there's no hiding from the long arm of the law. Not to mention the fact that Tony is on probation. He may very well do time for aiding someone who planned to carry out a violent crime.
What are the consequences of Clay being left at the scene with Tyler's weapon?
The last shot of the season is of Clay holding what looks to be a large semi-automatic weapon. Tyler's gun remains at the scene and, when police arrive, they will see Clay unlawfully possessing a gun that does not belong to him.
So, what's the game plan here? We know our protagonist wanted to make sure Tyler didn't ruin his life. But there is no way he'll be able to explain why he has the gun without implicating Tyler. If he doesn't give up Tyler, that's his ass on the line.
Based on the fact that Clay's mom is a lawyer, something tells us he may just try to beg it and cop to a weapons possession charge to keep Tyler from getting caught. Hero Complex Boy strikes again.
Will Monty pay for what he did to Tyler?
It's clear that Monty is, by far, one of this season's worst players. Abused by his own family at home, Monty's brutal assault of Tyler was one of this season's hardest scenes to watch.
So, will Monty get what's coming to him? We sure hope so. There's no reason the baseball player wouldn't be included in a potential third season and, despite our feelings about Tyler's actions, we're gonna need justice. It may be too late to hold Liberty High responsible for what it did to Hannah, but it's not too late to make sure Monty never hurts someone like he did Tyler again.
Will Justin and Jessica give their relationship another go?
Justin and Jessica hook up in the last episode and it definitely leaves more questions than in does answers. Does this mean that they will date again? Can Jessica withstand the storm that is definitely on its way considering the fact that Justin's heroin issues are not over with? Will Alex be heartbroken?
We know it was probably a heat of the moment situation but, with their lives in various states of influx, this mere hook up is bound to have serious implications.
Will Justin's heroin addiction get worse before it gets better?
We know that Justin's battle with heroin addiction is far from over. With Justin entering the "hiding" stage of his illness, will he be able to hold it together or will it all come crashing down?
If the prospect of an overdose for this character scares you, don't worry. You're not alone. Heroin is no joke and we're not sure Justin is going to make it out of this thing as well as he did the first time.
Will Justin's new living situation with the Jensen's work out or crash and burn?
Justin is moving in with the Jensen's as Clay's new adoptive brother. There will be a lot of complex relationship dynamics at play here, but it's Justin's addiction that has us worried for his future with the Jensen family.
Is Alex Standall gay or bisexual?
Alex Standall and his mystery boner for Zach have us wondering whether Alex's sexuality will be discussed in season 3. There's a chance that the boner in question was purely involuntary. There's also a chance that Alex is into both dudes and girls.
Will there be other consequences for Bryce?
After everything Bryce did, his crack team of lawyers were able to get him just three months of probation. That hardly seems fair and it feels like there may be some bad karma coming Bryce's way.
Unfortunately, Nina burned all the evidence of Bryce's indiscretions and he seems to be made of Teflon, with everything just rolling right off of him. Bryce got his day in court, but will retribution come knocking through less...official channels? At this point, Bryce has a lot of enemies and we can't rule this out.
Did Nina really destroy all the Polaroids?
In the last episode we see Nina destroying all the Polaroids from The Clubhouse. We, as viewers, can understand the pain she must have felt at her assault being immortalized in a photo. However, that's valuable evidence that could have been used to have Bryce and some of the others punished.
Did Nina burn all the photos? Did she keep any?
Have we heard the last of Hannah Baker?
This is our most pressing season 3 question. Have we seen and heard the last of Hannah Baker? When Hannah walked out of the church during Clay's eulogy, everything about the departure made her exit seem...final.
There was a storytelling purpose to ghost Hannah but now, with Hannah's mom off to New York, her dad carrying on with another woman, the trial over, and a new huge plot at the center of the show (how the HELL are they gonna get Tyler out of this??), it doesn't feel like there will be much room to rehash Hannah's suicide for the 80th time.
Could 13 Reasons Why season 3 see Hannah gone from our lives for good?
