Chilling Adventures of Sabrina fans are devastated by the Nick Scratch twist in season 2

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is back and everyone is losing it over the Nicholas Scratch twist in season 2.

Ever since the first season of CAOS came out in October 2018, fans have been obsessed with Nick. Gavin Leatherwood's character starts out as one of Sabrina's classmates at the Academy of the Unseen Arts but quickly becomes so much more. In season 2, Nick takes on a much bigger role as he rivals Harvey for Sabrina's attention. However, there is a massive Nick twist at the end and viewers are heartbroken by it.

Will Nick be in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina season 3? Is he the devil?

In season 2 of CAOS, Sabrina officially breaks up with Harvey because she is worried that her life as a witch could put him in danger. There are still some unresolved feelings between the two of them but, for the most part, Harbrina is over. Harvey and Ros then start dating and Nick suddenly takes centre stage in Sabrina's life. And, given how much Nick appears to care for Sabrina, people really ship Nabrina.

And this is why the twist is so devastating. In the CAOS season 2 finale, we learn that the Dark Lord asked Nick to get close to Sabrina and be nice to her in a bid to manipulate her. He tells Sabrina that he never meant to hurt her and that he did not know the Dark Lord's agenda (to kickstart the apocalypse) but Sabrina tells him that it doesn't matter. Ultimately, he's hurt her and broken their trust.

Things get even more emotional as the episode unfurls though. In a bid to make amends for his wrongs, Nick helps Sabrina, her friends and her family try to trap Lucifer in an Acheron (a small magical puzzle that acts as a prison). This fails and, as a result, Nick offers to imprison Lucifer in his body. He says: "I love you Spellman. You taught me how to love," and then he sacrifices himself.

Of course, everyone is absolutely losing it over the twist...

The season then ends with Madam Satan taking Nick, with the Dark Lord trapped in his body, into Hell. It seems like Nick is gone forever and Sabrina is distraught but all is not as it first appears. In the final scene, Harvey, Ros and Theo ask Sabrina what they should do next and she says: "So it might be impossible and it might get us killed... let's go to Hell and get my boyfriend back."

In other words, we're 99.9% sure that Nick will star in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Part 3 and the season will likely focus on Sabrina, Harvey, Ros and Theo working together to bring him back from Hell. As it stands, Netflix and CAOS's creators are yet to confirm anything about Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Part 3 but we shall update you as soon as they do.
