Season 3 of Netflix's Dear White People will return on August 2 with most of the show's main cast expected to reprise their roles. An announcement made June 19th revealed the show's season 3 premiere date and celebrated Juneteenth with the cast.
No doubt you're excited to catch up with Sam White and her classmates and friends at the fictional Winchester University in the upcoming season.

Dear White People returns to Netflix on August 2, 2019. In announcement made on June 19, the streaming platform confirmed that the popular series would return for a third season at the beginning of August.

Which Dear White People cast members are returning?
It appears that the entire main cast will return for season 3 of Dear White People. Logan Browning will reprise her role as Sam White along with John Patrick Amedori as Gabe, Ashley Blaine Featherson as Joelle, Marque Richardson as Reggie, DeRon Horton as Lionel and Brandon P. Bell as Troy Fairbanks.
What happened in Dear White People season 2?
In season 2 of Dear White People, Sam got down and dirty with a racist online troll that turned out to be Silvio.
Meanwhile, Reggie deals with the aftermath of trauma he feels after campus police pull a gun on him at a party.
Coco Connors is pregnant but ultimately decides to get an abortion, but not before we see what her life would be like as a young mom.

What can you expect to happen in Dear White People season 3?
In an interview with Buzzfeed's AM to DM, Logan Browning didn't give much away in terms of what fans can expect in season 3 of Dear White People.
"This season is all about spring awakening and all the characters are kind of getting to explore their newness, their college experiences and how it has shaped their lives. Their personas versus their personalities. The same but new."
Dear White People is sure to delve more deeply into The Order of X.
The secret society isn't the focal point of season 2 but does add a layer of intrigue when it comes to the historical context of black secret societies. At the end of season 2, Lionel and Sam come closer to knowing more about the mysterious Order.
Dear White People creator Justin Simien revealed in an interview with IndieWire that he's keen to further develop the mystery of The Order of X.
“I think we have to follow up what the Order of X is, what it means, what to continues to mean,” Simien said. “I think the secret thing is something I want to build upon, because it is part of the fabric of the school. I don’t know that I want that to be the focus of next season, but you can’t just run away from that storyline.”
How many episodes will there be in Dear White People season 3?
Based on the 10 episodes in season 1 and 10 episodes in season 2, it would be fair to assume that Dear White People will also have 10 episodes.
