HBO's hit teen drama Euphoria has had fans gripped since it premiered back in 2019. Zendaya stars as Rue Bennett, a recovering drug addict navigating high school, parties, relationships and everything in between.

Euphoria was renewed for season two before season one even finished airing its 10 episode run, so fans can already look forward to picking up where the teens intend to leave off in the season 1 finale.

Has Euphoria been renewed for season 2?

Euphoria has been renewed for a second season at HBO.

Yes, that's right. Euphoria is officially coming back for another season. Executive producer Drake celebrated the news with his nearly 60 million Instagram followers in early July, writing: "Euphoria picked up for Season 2 😁 OBVIOUSLYYYYYYYYY".

The show's cast also expressed excitement, with Zendaya thanking fans for their support and Hunter Schafer tweeting that she was "completely losing my shit on a plane RN" in response to the news.

Production on the second season of the show is now officially underway. The official Euphoria Twitter account shared an image of Zendaya and Angus Cloud (who plays our boi Fezco) at the table read.

When will season 2 of Euphoria be released?

There is no official release date for Euphoria season two. However, a later 2020 or early 2021 release seems likely, given that the new season has only just gone into production.

But with the cast attending the first table read, it seems like filming won't be too far away. Filming for season 1 took place in the second half of 2018, with the release date following one year later.

How many seasons of Euphoria will there be?

Get excited for season two, but don't expect a ton of seasons of the hit teen drama.

HBO President Casey Bloys told TV Line that there won't be "endless seasons" of Euphoria and that there is a "limit".

“Well, [the characters] are in high school, so there are only so many seasons it can go,” he told the publication. "We’ll follow [Sam’s] lead on that,” he says. “There is no set plan. But I don’t think you want 30-year-olds playing [high school students]."
